Comprehensive Curriculum

  • Core & Electives: BHS offers over 200 course options spanning core areas such as English, mathematics, science, social studies, world languages, health, physical education, visual arts, music, family & consumer sciences, and technical education.

  • Block Schedule: The school operates on a block schedule—five 75-minute periods per day--enabling students to earn more credits over four years.

Career & Technical Education (CTE) Academies

  • Career Pathways: Students can enroll in specialized Career Academies—including Agriculture, Automotive Technology, Culinary Arts, Health Careers, PLTW Engineering, Mechatronics, Natural Resources, Public Service, Construction Trades, Business, Art & Design, and more.

  • Work-Based Learning: Programs include internships, job shadowing, apprenticeships, and a “Work Seminar” that emphasizes resume writing, interview skills, and workplace ethics.

  • Hands-On Projects: Academies offer real-world experience offering students greater exposure to real world experiences before graduation. 

Advanced & College Credit Opportunities

  • AP & Project Lead The Way: BHS offers AP courses and PLTW engineering classes, enabling students to challenge themselves academically. 

  • Concurrent Enrollment : High-achieving juniors and seniors can earn dual credit by taking college courses by taking courses through the state's College in the High School program further catering to college & career readiness (e.g., accounting, chemistry, history, English, physics, digital photography, Photoshop).

  • Robust Offerings: The school offers everything from curling classes to theater design, yearbook, advanced construction, automotive technology, and Photoshop, with electives tailored to student interest and community demand.
